I happened to use LOCATEN function some time back and got stuck with some syntax error messages in OBIEE 11g analysis report.
As per the reply from Oracle Support
The correct syntax for LocateN is Locate('T', "PROMOTIONS"."PROMO_SUBCATEGORY", 2) . SAW's formula should generate Locate instead of LocateN.
This is a dual function usage (i.e. Locate have two different form).
This is a documentation bug.
